Phoenix Symphony - 2015-2016 Season Announcement

Phoenix Symphony has announced their upcoming season and there are a few concerts for Broadway and theatre fans, including appearances by Tony winners Jason Alexander and Kristin Chenoweth -

Long before he became “Seinfeld’s” George Costanza, the vastly talented Jason Alexander was a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical star. Worried this is a concert about “nothing”? Absolutely not… Alexander shares his musical journey and passion for Broadway, stage and screen. Don’t miss this blockbuster night as Jason Alexander makes his Arizona symphonic debut with The Phoenix Symphony in an evening fi lled with the music, humor and fun.

The Gershwin Experience: Here to Stay

 “Here to Stay” is a multi-media concert celebrating the genius of George and Ira Gershwin, with hits like “I Got Rhythm,” “Strike Up the Band,” “The Man I Love,” “’S Wonderful,” and other favorites. Featuring leading Grammy award-winning soprano Lisa Vroman and tap dancing sensation Ryan VanDemBoom, this Phoenix Symphony event also showcases rare audio and video footage, family photos and elegant, state-of-the-art visuals of the Gershwin’s. This will be a night of music and entertainment you won’t want to miss!

Piano Man – The Music of Billy Joel

Hand-picked by Billy Joel to play the title role in the Broadway musical Moving Out, Grammy and Tony nominated Michael Cavanaugh won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. In this tribute to Billy Joel, hear many of the Piano Man’s biggest hits including “She’s Got a Way”, “New York State of Mind,” “Uptown Girl” and “Just the Way You Are” live with The Phoenix Symphony

Great American Songbook with Kristin Chenoweth

Actress and recording artist Kristin Chenoweth makes her debut with The Phoenix Symphony to close out the 2015/16 APS Pops Series. This multitalented star has e ortlessly transitioned between stage, television and lm. She received a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for her work on Pushing Daisies and a Tony for her performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, as well as nominations for her roles in Fox’s Glee and Broadway’s Wicked. A veteran of the concert stage Kristin has performed to sold out crowds in concert halls across the country.
