Fountain Hills Theater supports Packages From Home during the run of South Pacific

from our friends at Fountain Hills Theater:

During the run of South Pacific, September 4-20, 2015, Fountain Hills Theater has chosen to support the military men and women deployed overseas by collecting items for a local organization Packages from Home.

Packages from Home began in 2004 with the first care package sent by Kathleen Lewis to her son deployed in Iraq. After hearing from her son that he was the only one receiving packages it became her mission to share the care with as many troops as possible.

Fountain Hills Theater humbly requests your assistance in the collection of the small items that bring a smile to these brave men and woman. One package serves 5-8 Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors, Guardsman and Reservists. Over 45,000 troop’s lives have been touched by this program. Packages from Home is listed and recognized by the Department of Defense.

Some items that make their day to day easier include: Foot & Body Powder, Hand Sanitizer, Eye Drops, T-Shirts, Boxers, Single drink mixers i.e., Wyler’s, Crystal Lite), Coffee (one pot packs), Pop Tarts, Canned Soup, Microwave Popcorn, Sunflower Seeds, Travel size Shampoo & Conditioner, African-American Hair Products, Sunscreen (6—8oz), Lip Balm. For additional ideas and to learn more about Packages from Home please refer to their website www.packagesfromhome.org

The theater will have a collection cart draped with red, white and blue bunting. Be sure to bring the items with you when you attend Rodgers & Hammerstein classic South Pacific.
