Playwright: Shaun Michael McNamara
Director: David Chorley

Compensation: Stipend Pay
Rehearsals Begin: 11/02/2015

Synopsis
Santa kidnapped by Martians?! Will the children of Earth have no toys on Christmas? Only Hollywood could cook up such an absurd story and only the All Puppet Players would want to make it into a live puppet show! This season we are combining puppets and humans for a truly original holiday tradition.

Character Breakdown

SANTA CLAUS (non-puppet role) – Seeking a comedic actor to portray the iconic role of Santa. While this Santa must have the same jolliness and happy-go-lucky attitude we would come to expect, we are also looking for an actor that can bring a little something different to the role. This is a Santa that must battle Martians in space while also winning us over with his loveable and cheerful spirit. Improv skills a plus. Not necessarily seeking a plus-sized actor (that’s what padding is for).

BILLY (non-puppet role) – Seeking comedic actor to portray a 10-year old boy who helps Santa escape from the evil clutches of the Martians. We are looking for an adult to play this character, specifically a body-type that might not necessarily fit the description. Billy is a child, innocent and completely oblivious to most everything around him. Improv skills a plus

BETTY (non-puppet role) – Seeking comedic actress to portray an 8-year old girl who helps Santa escape from the evil clutches of the Martians. We are looking for an adult to play this character. Betty is a young child, innocent with a penchant for crying, worrying and talking to her Teddy Bear. Improv skills a plus

ENSEMBLE (puppet & non-puppet roles) – Seeking puppets and humans to play various Martians, Elves, Robots, Polar Bears, and an assortment of other extremely random characters.

What To Prepare
