Southwest Shakespeare Company presents their 2016 Summer Conservatory for students ages 14-18

SUMMER CONSERVATORY

Which will culminate in a streamlined, gender-bending,
modern dress version of William Shakespeare’s




What: Open to all students ages 14 – 18. All students are guaranteed a role. Role distribution will occur after the first few days of class. The focus of the conservatory will be learning how to act Shakespeare while putting up our own dynamic and abridged show, but students will also learn about and engage in various other exciting activities such as improvisation, theatre games, movement exercises, voice/speech, the use of rhetoric, and stage combat.

When: Classes and rehearsals begin on Wednesday, June 1 and will run from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Performances are Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16.

Where: We will perform the show in the Farnsworth Theatre at the Mesa Arts Center and rehearse next door at Southwest Shakespeare’s rehearsal studio at 55 E. Main St. in downtown Mesa.

Cost: Tuition for this twenty hour a week, 6.5 week program is only $485. Audience admission to the performances is free.
