audition notice - MUSIC MAN IN CONCERT - Showtunes Productions - August 12


Announcing children's auditions for MUSIC MAN IN CONCERT at the Orpheum December 1-3, 2017.

MUSIC MAN IN CONCERT, featuring a 17-piece orchestra, The North Valley Chorale and 20 Actors, will perform at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix, December 1-3, 2017 for five performances, kicking off the Orpheum Theatre’s 2017-18 Broadway Series.

The audition for Winthrop and Amaryllis is set for Saturday, August 12 at:

ALL CHILDREN MUST BE UNDER 4 FEET 8 INCHES TALL TO AUDITION. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

AMARYLLIS – A slightly bratty piano student of Marion Paroo.

WINTHROP PAROO – Marian’s baby brother, very shy because of a noticeable lisp. Embraces Harold Hill and the marching band.

  • Vocal range bottom: C4

Performances: Dec 1 – 8:00pmDec 2 – 2:00pm & 8:00pmDec 3 – 1:00pm & 6:30pm. Production will feature the entire libretto and score, costumes, scenic drops, theatrical lighting, musical staging and limited choreography.

Compensation for the entire rehearsal and performance period will be $200 per week plus one complimentary ticket and unlimited discounted tickets.

All performers must supply their own makeup and all garments that touch their skin. Girls must supply socks and white or tan Mary Jane shoes. Boys must supply socks and brown or black character shoes or oxfords.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Showtune Productions is a Arizona-based entertainment company in it’s 7th season, dedicated to bringing live professional performances to audiences throughout the United States. Performers and musicians are cast locally and nationally. Showtune Productions has produced over 50 different shows including original revues and tributes featuring popular songs from Broadway, Country, Early Rock & Roll, Big Band, 60’s & 70’s pop and beyond.

JR McAlexander, (Producer/Musical Director) has music directed over 375 productions throughout the including National Tours of ALL SHOOK UP, THE WEDDING SINGER, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, ANYTHING GOES, FOOTLOOSE and BEEHIVE, THE 60’S MUSICAL. JR served as National Musical Supervisor of Prather Entertainment Group, which included the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Mesa for 20 years.

M. Seth Reines (Artistic Director), has staged over 450 productions for stage and television, including national tours of ALL SHOOK UP, THE WEDDING SINGER, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and SOUTH PACIFIC. Seth was Artistic Producer of the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre for 10 years in Mesa.

Dottie Lester-White (Choreographer), dance captain/performer in the original Broadway productions of HELLO, DOLLY!; NO, NO, NANETTE; COCO and national tours, served as resident choreographer for American Musical Theatre of San Jose, staging countless West Coast premieres.
