Due to Laura Benanti’s young daughter being hospitalized with the flu, Benanti will no longer be able to perform at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts this Saturday, March 17.

We are thankful that Broadway star Christine Ebersole has jumped in to replace her.
Legendary singer and actress Christine Ebersole’s career has transported her from a co-anchor gig on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update in the early 1980s to an award-winning star on Broadway. She won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for both 42nd Street and Grey Gardens and received Tony nominations for roles in Dinner at Eight and, most recently, War Paint, opposite fellow Tony nominee Patti LuPone. Along the way she racked up dozens of television appearances (Ally McBealBoston Legal, The Colbert Report) and notable film credits (AmadeusTootsieRichie Rich). Other leading roles on Broadway include On the Twentieth CenturyOklahoma!Camelot, Gore Vidal’s The Best ManSteel Magnolias and Blithe Spirit. As a singer, Ebersole has released several albums and has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Mark Cortale’s Broadway @ Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts series showcases some of Broadway’s brightest stars in the Center’s intimate Virginia G. Piper Theater. Hosted by multi-talented pianist and comedian Seth Rudetsky, these cabaret-style concerts mix popular song with candid showbiz stories.

Seth Rudetsky is the afternoon host on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio’s On Broadway as well as the host of Seth Speaks on SiriusXM Stars. He has played piano for more than a dozen Broadway shows, including Ragtime, Les Misérables and Phantom of the Opera, among many others.
