POSITION:  THEATER MANAGER OF THE MADISON CENTER OF THE PERFORMING ARTS

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
2. A minimum of five years experience of proven successful management of a performing center required.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups both verbally and in writing.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to function effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control at all times.
6. Ability to use related technology and theater operations.
 
OVERVIEW:
The Madison is the culminating vision of four years of planning and collaboration between the community and the district. This contemporary center is intended to foster engagement and appreciation for the arts both regionally and nationally. The Theater Manager will be responsible for creating a vision of the (TBD genre) as well as the overall success of the center. Day to day operations include but are not limited to; booking performances, community, social and school events, fundraising, marketing and budgeting. This position has potential to evolve into a Director role based on the growth and success of The Madison.
  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
1.  Develop and implement marketing strategies to ensure that performances attract large audiences that result in high profitability.
2.  Develop and manage internal systems for successful delivery of performances.
3.  Develop, book and manage an event calendar.
4.  Coordinate with Madison Schools to maximize the educational use of The Madison.
5.  Determine the demands of performing groups to ensure successful performances.
6.  Coordinate activities between center staff and stage performers.
7.  Hire and supervise temporary positions as required by the performance.
8.  Collaborate with specific vendors to provide an overall enhanced experience for attendees.
9.  Collaborate with Madison School District on annual budgets, bookkeeping and other fiscal management
    including contracts, use, and lease agreements.
10.  Plan, develop, and implement marketing and public relations strategies for The Madison.
11. Correspond with and answer inquiries from potential performing groups, community, business and other
      organizations in person, by telephone and email.
12. Anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for
      possible contingencies.
13. Represent The Madison within the Phoenix Community.
14. Develop and nurture city, state, and national business partnerships.
15. Network with peers at the city, state level and with national affiliates.
16. Contribute to the team by accomplishing other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English as well as the ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of customers or employees.

SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION:
The Superintendent will supervise and evaluate performance.
 
LENGTH OF WORK YEAR/SALARY SCHEDULE:
Twelve months/Classified Exempt/E4
Salary Range $64,289 - $83,586 (placement based on experience)
